Two Years Old!!!

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY!!!

Its hard to believe that its been a little over 2 years now since I went through that high risk pregnancy, 11 weeks of bedrest, and an emergency C-Section. Whew how time flies, especially when you are sleep deprived and exhausted all the time.

So today for their actual birthday we are celebrating by going to lunch at a Japanese Steakhouse. My triplets have been 2 other times and they just love watching all the food being cooked. After their nap we are going back to the Bouncy House/slide place we went to last month. It should be a good workout for Mom and Dad too!

At 2 years old, they are talking so much and learning new words everyday. They speak in 3-4 phrases now, label everything, and ask for specific things. They are very much into pretend play. They love to pretend to clean the house, cook, go bye bye to the mall or to work like Daddy. The new play kitchen set they received for their birthday has been a huge hit! They love to play with baby dolls and animals. They like to cover them with blankets and have them go to sleep. They tell them "shhhh, go night night" and then pat their backs. They love puzzles and are able to put simple puzzles together now. They are very into building with blocks as well and making barns for the animals and tractors. Bottom line, they are very busy!

The Monkey Party!

The Birthday Cakes

Here is the big Monkey Cake I made for the triplet's 2nd Birthday Party. It was a banana cake and buttercream icing. I used photoshop on the names at the bottom of the cake to take them out of the pictures for the blog, otherwise that is where the names went.

These were their individual Monkey Cakes. Once again I used photoshop on the bananas to take their names off for the blog photos.

Dress Up Continues

In these pictures we have moved forward in time to the mid 50's dress style. The dress is my little Princess's Grandmother's. The slip underneith is one of my old baby slips. We are also on the search for the picture of Grandma in this dress and hope to post it too.

The boys are not getting left out, we have their Great Grandfather's little sailor outfit being cleaned as we speak for them to try on. That is coming soon.

A Century Old

My little Princess is proudly wearing her Great, Great, Great Grandmother's Dress. Its about 100 years old and handmade. We are currently locating a picture of the above mentioned Grandmother wearing the dress as a child and hope to post it sometime soon for comparison.

Thank You Animals

The above animals (as well as many more not pictured) are my new best friends. These were purchased several months ago at our local Moms of Multiples Sale. I got a great deal on them and knew that eventually the kids would love to play with them. When I use to teach in daycare, we had some animals like this. They were always among the favorites with the children.

I have been holding onto them, waiting for the perfect time to get them out. I knew several months ago that they would not be ready for them at that point. Hard plastic animals thrown at your sibling, banged on your sibling's head, dropped on your sibling's foot, chewed off legs of poor defenseless giraffes, etc. So, I decided to wait until they were closer to two before I brought them out.

Last week we dealt with some sickness, fevers and now some runny noses. Not fun since no one wanted to sleep well, which means Mommy doesn't get to sleep. Crabby children who are tired of their old baby type toys who are getting restless at home meant Mom was desperate for something new. Then I remembered these wonderful animals.

Since I have shared these creatures with the children, they have played with them non stop. Its amazing to watch them and their creativity.

Sometimes the animals need to go potty. Sometimes they even have to have wipes to clean up their poop.

The animals get very tired playing all day and have to sleep. Shhhh....

They also get very hungry. They like to eat their food from bowls. They also get very thirsty.

The animals have also been known to cry, especially the monkeys. Not sure why they seem to cry the most. The alligator is known for biting fingers and toes, so you might watch out!

23 Months

So one more month until the big day! I will stop the montly photo updates at that point. I like doing the monthly pictures to see how much they have grown. It's neat to see the progress.

Well, today we had a fun treat for the kiddos. If you know these guys, you know they LOVE Fire Trucks. I am sure the fact that we have TWO Fire Stations on our road plays a big part in this. So today we went to the store and a Fire Truck happened to be in the parking lot. I chose to park next to it so the trio could get an up close and personal look at it. As I was unloading the kids into the choo choo wagon, one of the Fire Fighters came over and asked if the kids wanted to see the Fire Truck. So he opened it up and the kids got to get inside and look around. They loved it. They wanted to drive it!! They also turned on the lights for the kids to see. The Fire Fighter also told us we can come by the Fire Station anytime we want for a tour, so we are going to take them up on this offer later this week. I think the kids will really enjoy it!
