22 Months Old

The picture below was a year ago on this day. My how we have grown.

So we are 2 months away from the big day. I cant believe they are going to be 2 soon! Actually some days it does feel like its been a very LONG 2 years! Regardless I am excited for the Twos, they are one of my favorite ages. Granted, I love this age too, but once they are two they will be able to do more activities, such as painting, storytimes, etc. Its just too hard to do some things with three toddlers by myself. Painting is a nightmare, we barely make it through markers, playdough works for a few minutes, crayons work for a minute until they decide to eat them and draw on the floor, I think you get the idea. I still try and hope as they get more into the two year old mode we will have better success at our activity attempts.

They are talking and repeating most words now. They generally tell me what they want and will recap some of their experiences with me. Such as if we went to the mall, later that day they will tell me they went bye bye to the mall and talk about what they saw, etc. Granted they are not using full sentences by any means, but one to two word phrases most of the time. They really understand a lot of what is told of them and they can follow simple instructions and 2 step instructions, such as "go sissy's sock and bring it to me", or "where is your baby? Go find her." I love watching their little minds work and figure out these tasks. They know their body parts, animal sounds, and we are working on colors and shapes right now. They do know circle and star so far. They are to the point of labeling pictures in books, I used to be the one saying see the dog, now they tell me what is in the picture.

And finally they have turned into Monkeys! They climb everything, I no longer have kitchen chairs in my kitchen. I had to move them out. They were being used to climb onto everything else and it was mass chaos. So now my furniture is down to a kitchen table (no chairs), a couch and a chair. Coffee Tables and end tables live in the garage now, the kitchen chairs live in my bedroom. Things are starting to look a bit odd around here! They also LOVE to climb in and out of their highchairs and practice buckling the straps in the highchairs. That provides many minutes of entertainment for them, who needs toys when you have highchairs to play with and push all around the house that no longer has furniture in it?! Ahhh life with triplets.

Story Book Cottage

So we enjoyed a break in all the rain by playing in our new Story Book Cottage. This was a wonderful suprise early birthday present for the triplets from Grandpa and Grandma. Mommy is also very excited to have this addition to our backyard. Just one more fun thing to keep us occupied this summer!!!

Copperhead anyone?

These snakes have been the hot topic in our household this past weekend. Hmmm, maybe because Daddy thought he was a snake charmer and could catch one without any complication or lasting consequences. Does anyone see where I might be going with this???

Yes Daddy decided to be nice to the little ole copperhead snake (not the one pictured above), and pick it up. He thought he should move it out of the way of the lawn mover to spare its life. He also thought he should carry it around for 15 minutes while trying to find a container to put it in so he could take it off the land. You know so it can go bother someone else. However, the Copperhead had other plans, he didnt think he needed to be moved nor did he want to leave his home and quite possibly his lovely Mrs. Copperhead and their batch of little wee ones. So he said goodbye to our Daddy and bit him on his finger with all his might. He then returned back to his Copperhead family unharmed, maybe a bit stressed, but no damage done. Now Daddy however didnt fare so well, he had some damage, a nice poisonous snake bit on the finger.

Well after an ambulance ride, fun ER times, Antivenim, hospitalization in the burn unit (apparently that is where they put the snake bite victims), and bouts of extreme pain, he is S-L-O-W-L-Y on the road to recovery. So the lesson to all you little ones, leave Mr. Copperhead alone, now if Daddy would only agree to do so.

Flashback

So in Soap Opera shows, such as my favorite Days of Our Lives, they tend to do alot of "flashbacks". Well that got me thinking that I havent done a flash back post in a while. So enjoy the May flashback....Last year around this time we were moving to our new destination out of state.

Two years ago, we were in the hospital having a very scary Pre Term Labor issues at 19 weeks. After I was released, it was super strict bedrest for the duration of the pregancy. I was 20 weeks in this photo.

Sandbox

We have our Sandbox finished!! The trio tested it out yesterday and gave us the toddler seal of approval. I guess I have some messy times ahead of me. We also plan to get a Water Table for the back yard, so I am sure the sand will meet the water table soon enough. I think I need to get some hummingbird feeders, I have seen several flying around our yard these past few days, which is odd since we dont have an flowers around. So a feeder is a must, if I want them to stay and hang out with us this summer while we play in the sand.

21 Months!

So we celebrated turning 21 months with vomit and diarrhea. The past few days 2 of the 3 have been sick. I thought we were getting better, just in time for Mom to start feeling sick, but we had a relapse of sickness today. Maybe tomorrow we will have better luck.
